DESCRIPTION:Join your CFS friends at Park Road Baptist Church for the annual holiday dinner and jam event. The fun starts at 3:00 PM with jamming of various genres. Dinner will follow at 5:30 PM (catering by Backstage BBQ). Menu options will include BBQ\, Chicken\, and Cauliflower wraps with sides and a drink. New this year is a potluck dessert table so please bring a goodie to share! \nOnline reservations are required and due no later than December\, 8th in order for the caterer to accurately prepare enough food. Please indicate on the reservation form your entree choice ($20/adult and $50/family and children 16 and under free) so we can have the appropriate quantities. \nAfter dinner there will be a brief CFS business meeting and a holiday “Open Mic”. DESCRIPTION:The Charlotte Contra Dancers are inviting Folk Society members to give contra dancing a try on February 8th. The two groups share musical roots and there is a long tradition of CFS musicians playing at dances. \nNancy Howe\, a beloved CFS member for many years\, started the group in 1973 as the Charlotte Country Dancers. Several name changes later\, they offer dances one Sunday a month and most Monday nights at the Mecklenburg Shrine Club. Find more dances in the region and dance weekends listed on their website at charlottecontradance.org. Ticket prices are also listed there. To welcome you\, the February 8th dance admission is $10 for Folk Society members.
