Mountain Dulcimer and Native American Flute virtuoso Bing Futch will be the Charlotte Folk Society’s featured performer on May 15 at Galilee Ministries of East Charlotte. Located at 3601 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205. As a nationally touring solo performer, Bing Futch brings big energy to every stage. He’s performed multiple times at the Walnut Valley Festival, The Florida Folk Festival, the Old Songs Festival, Indiana Fiddlers Gathering, and Common Ground On The Hill, unleashing a torrent of music with his voice, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, ukulele, Native American flute, and a looper pedal. Bing’s musicianship blends raw, rootsy groove with fearless improvisation. A singer and multi-instrumentalist, he pairs expressive vocals with mountain dulcimer virtuosity in a dizzying array of musical styles. His sets travel widely, from Delta blues and Americana to reimagined rock and synth-pop alongside traditional material. Onstage, he leans into connection, often folding audience participation into the experience.
