Scholarships

Charlotte Folk Society (CFS) and Tosco Music offer four (4) youth and two (2) adult scholarships to The Swannanoa Gathering in partnership with Warren Wilson College. The scholarships cover tuition ($590) provided by CFS and Tosco Music, and room and board ($470) provided by Warren Wilson College, for a total scholarship of $1,060 to each recipient. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own transportation to and from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC. Complete class schedules and other information are online: www.swangathering.com. These scholarships are a one-time award to The Swannanoa Gathering for any of the following workshops:

  • Mando/Banjo Week
  • Fiddle Week
  • Traditional Song Week
  • Celtic Week
  • Old-Time Week
  • Contemporary Folk Week
  • Guitar Week

Instrument Lending Library: Visit CFS’s monthly lending library for now by making an appointment with John or David. There is a large inventory of instruments, so come try something new! Borrow instruments for two months for a deposit of $30, or longer in exchange for donating your deposit to the instrument library fund which is used for repairs, accessories, and acquisitions.
