The vocal and guitar workshops run concurrently. Both 10-12. Break at 11:00 so folks can switch then if they want.

Kenny Smith’s Guitar Workshop

Designed for bluegrass guitarists, this session covers:
– Rhythm Mastery: Improving pick tension, strumming patterns, and incorporating bass and G-runs.
– Arpeggios: Constructing arpeggios from the major scale for improvisation.
– Technique Refinement: Hand discipline, speed, and effective practice routines.

Amanda Smith’s Vocal Workshop

Led by the 2014 IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year, this workshop focuses on:
– Essential bluegrass singing techniques including tone, diaphragm strength, and dynamics.
– Harmony and vocal practice through popular songs.
